Inspire Our Community Career & Technical Scholarship

 

The Inspire Our Community Career Tech Education (CTE) Scholarship for Grenada County residents was created with the goal of providing access to academic and technical skills, knowledge, and hands-on training to learners of all ages. The CTE Scholarship provides financial assistance to prepare learners to excel in their future careers by introducing them to workplace competencies and making academic content accessible through hands-on learning. It also promotes the importance of having a career versus having a job.  Career goals include the yearning to learn skills, gain experiences, build connections, and grow both in and outside the workplace. Inspire Our Community is dedicated to the overall success and growth of the Grenada community and are willing to invest in the future of its young residents.

 

Application Requirements:

 

Applicants will be required to submit a 2-4 minute video presentation answering the following question.

 

Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your field of study and your future goals?

 

Please include the following in your response:

  • Introduction. Tell us your name, where you are from, your current high school, and where you plan to attend college.
  • Response. Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your field of study and your future goals?
  • Personal. What impact will achieving your goals have on your life?
  • Lessons. After reaching your goals, what strategies would you implement in your community in order to create more employment opportunities?
  • Benefits. How would you assist in implementing this change?
  • Closing. Why do you think it is important to use your achievements as tool to help others?

 

Must submit school transcript when applicable.

 

Some Advice:

  • Try to restate the questions in your response.
  • Remember posture is important.
  • Record your video with appropriate lighting using a neutral background.
  • Pick a quiet area.
  • Dress appropriately.
  • Your final submission should be free of grammatical errors.
